The upcoming USA Baseball bat regulations for youth baseball are going in effect this winter, and at Game Day Sports we’re here to make sure you’re prepared with the equipment you need. Starting September 1 st, the new USABat stamped and approved bats will be available for purchase at retailers throughout the U.S.
Before you buy, here’s what you need to know about the new USABat regulations
- All bats used in AABC, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Little League, Dixie and PONY leagues after January 1, 2018 will require the USABat stamp.
- All bats that were previously purchased and do not have the stamp, will not be allowed for use in games.
- USSSA is not adopting the USABat regulations. You will be able to use all USSSA stamped & new USABat marked bats, 2 3/4 in barrel included.
These new bats will have more wood-like performance, which is meant reduce batted ball exit speeds and also limit the amount of rebound the bat provides when it hits the ball. The result - a safer bat for players.
If you’re in the market for your new bat, make sure you can confirm it has the new USABat stamp if you participate in one of the leagues mentioned above. You should also contact your local league to see what regulations they’ll be playing by.
At Game Day Sports, we are your players’ biggest fans. We’re here to help guide you through all the specs and find the best bat for your athlete.
